All projects under their responsibility progressed according to requirements and timelines and most were completed as expected. This led to successful operational and financial outcomes for both firms. · Birleşim Mühendislik has been closely following the rapid increase in investments in renewable energy sources, both globally and in Turkey. Recognizing the burgeoning potential of solar power plants in its home market, in late 2022 Birleşim Mühendislik allocated a portion of the proceeds from its IPO to acquire a 70% stake in Solar Santral Enerji A.Ş., an EPC contractor active in all aspects of the increasingly more important business line of solar power plant project development, installation, and financing since 2017. · Trendyol, in which Alibaba acquired a majority stake in 2018 and was looking to expand its operations in Turkey, decided to invest in an Ankara-based new logistics transfer center in Ankara with an enclosed area of 85,000 m². · The electromechanical installation works for this project began on 4 January 2022 under a contract with ASC Mimarlık Dekorasyon Ltd. The Trendyol Transfer Center, designed to operate with a single-shift workforce of 1,200 and a single-day processing and handling capacity of 50 million items, is on track to begin operations soon. · The electromechanical installation works for Çukurova Airport, which will be the fourth largest airport in Turkey when it opens, began on 3 April 2022, under a contract with Favori Çukurova Hava Limanı İşletmeciliği A.Ş., a subsidiary of the Kozuva Group. The facility, with a total enclosed area of 110,000 m², will serve 12 million passengers a year and be the second- largest cargo hub in Turkey. The project includes a main runway of 60 meters by 3,500 meters, a secondary runway of 45 meters by 3,500 meters, taxiways, and aprons capable of simultaneously serving up to 50 private, cargo, and passenger aircraft. Operations are expected to begin in 2023. · Electromechanical installation works for the Topkapı 29 Project, which will provide users with a high-quality, brand-new living experience in Istanbul’s historic Topkapı district, began on 12 May 2022 under a contract with Perspektif Yapı İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. The project features modern architecture, superior- quality construction, human-centered design, expansive green spaces, and rich social and cultural amenities. · The Topkapı 29 Project, which is being undertaken by Akzirve Gayrimenkul & Yatırım Grubu, will include well- equipped, modern apartments, offices, a hotel, residences, a shopping mall, a wellness center and club, medical clinics and residences, and an academic aparthotel. · The mechanical works for Amazon’s first logistics hub in Turkey, a US-based company referred to as “one of the most influential economic and cultural forces” and “one of the most valuable brands in the world,” which has been operating in the country since 2018, commenced on 20 May 2022 under a contract signed with Uluslararası İnşaat Yatırım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. ASSESSMENT OF 2022 OPERATIONAL RESULTS Birleşim Mühendislik made significant progress and achieved notable successes in the direction of its sustainable growth in 2022.
