Work has begun at all three sites and is in progress. · On 31 May 2023 an agreement was signed with Kavacık Medikal Sağlık Hizmetleri ve Ürünleri Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. for the conduct of electromechanical installation works at the Medistate Çekmeköy Hospital (21,850 m 2 ) it is building. Work has begun and is in progress. · On 5 September 2023 an agreement was signed with REC Uluslararası İnşaat Yatırım Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. to perform electrical installation works at a new Bezmiâlem Foundation University hospital that will replace an existing one on the Vatan high street in the Fatih district of İstanbul’s historical peninsula. Subject to the oversight of the Directorate General of Foundations, the hospital’s origins reach back to a pious foundation chartered in 1845 by Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan, a wife of then reigning Sultan Mahmud II. At the time it was the best-equipped teaching hospital in the Ottoman Empire and was capable of providing medical care as good as anything available in Europe. It remained in operation without interruption for well over a century and a half. In 2010, the venerable Bezmiâlem was transformed into a university hospital taking its extensive and deep knowledge and experience into the academic domain. Work has begun and is in progress. · On 13 February 2023 an agreement was signed with Cevahir Taahhüt İnşaat ve Ticaret A.Ş. for the mechanical installation works of Phase II of the Borsa İstanbul Project at the İstanbul Finance Center. Work has begun and is in progress. · At the İstanbul Finance Center, a landmark undertaking envisioned to position the city among the world’s top 10 financial hubs, construction on a host of projects is well underway and advancing swiftly. One of Birleşim Mühendislik’s projects here consists of two tower blocks (40 and 46 stories) owned by real estate investment trust Ziraat REIC. The first tower, whose mechanical installation works are being performed by Birleşim Mühendislik, has reached the final stage. On 15 March 2023 an agreement was signed with Kalyon İnşaat Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. for the other tower’s electromechanical installation works. Work here has begun and is in progress. · On 3 April 2023 an agreement was signed with Favori Çukurova Hava Limanı İşletmeciliği A.Ş., an airport operator and member of the Kozuva Group for the electromechanical installation works of the new Çukurova airport. Work has begun and is in progress. On 19 December 2023, another agreement was signed with the same company for the electromechanical installation works of buildings added to the original project. Work has also begun under this contract and is in progress. · When completed, the Çukurova airport will be Turkey’s fourth biggest with a total of 110,000 m 2 of enclosed space capable of serving 12 million passengers a year. It will also be the country’s second biggest air cargo hub. Featuring a main runway spanning 3,500 meters with a width of 60 meters, a secondary runway of equal length but 45 meters wide, taxiways, and ample apron space for around 50 aircraft of various types, including private, commercial, and cargo planes, the project is slated to become operational in 2024. · The electromechanical installation works were completed and provisionally accepted for Trendyol’s new 85,000-square-meter logistics transfer center in Ankara. Trendyol, a major Turkish e-commerce platform that Alibaba acquired a majority stake in back in 2018. Employing 1,200 people and with a handling capacity of 50 million packages a day, this state-of- the-art facility was designed to support Trendyol’s expansion of its operations across Turkey. The center is currently in operation. · The mechanical systems for Amazon’s inaugural logistics base in Turkey were successfully completed. The US-based company, renowned as a global leader in e-commerce, has been operating in Turkey since 2018 and this new facility represents a significant expansion of its presence in the country. All works have been turned over to the employer, REC Uluslararası İnşaat Yatırım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. İstanbul Finance Center · The electromechanical installation works of the Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O. General Directorate Services Building & Facilities Project at the İstanbul Finance Center were successfully completed and turned over to contractor REC Uluslararası İnşaat Yatırım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Located on 15,600 m 2 of grounds and boasting a total construction area of 274,000 m 2 , the project consisted of two towers, one 221 meters tall with 53 floors, the other 151 meters tall with 36 floors. Housing Class A commercial and office spaces, the towers harken the architectural styles of the Ottomans and their Anatolian Seljuk predecessors. The design of the high-rise towers, shaped like 16-pointed stars, prioritizes vertical continuity. With successive floors rising in an ascending spiral, the towers evoke the mesmerizing movements of the Mevlevi sema ceremony.
