BİRLEŞİM MÜHENDİSLİK 2023 ANNUAL REPORT 14 INTRODUCTION OUR SERVICE AND OPERATIONAL BUSINESS LINES Compressed Air Systems In all industrial and in many service structures, highly compressed air is used as a primary source of energy. The main components of these systems are compressors, dryers, filters, pressure- reducers, and specialized inlet/outlet valves. Steam & Condensate Systems Steam and condensate systems are generally used in industrial settings and supply high or low-pressure steam safely for use in industrial processes and/or for heating. The main components of these systems are boilers, separators, traps, and specially designed valves and other fittings. Medical Gas Systems Medical gas systems are installed in healthcare facilities to safely supply specialized gases and gas mixtures for such purposes as diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and anesthesia. They also supply instrument air to power surgical equipment. Pool Systems Pool systems consist of filtering, disinfection, heating, and underwater lighting systems and elements used in swimming and ornamental pools. Laundry & Kitchen Systems Laundry and kitchen systems are designed to address the clean water, waste water, and electrical connection needs of machinery and equipment in the conduct of large-scale/institutional laundry and kitchen operations. Building Automation & Building Management Systems A building automation or building management system is a system that automates/manages various building- related processes without the need for hands-on human intervention. These are computer-based hardware and software systems that control and monitor the building’s mechanical and electrical equipment and determine equipment maintenance cycles based on operating parameter feedback. They also monitor and control the building’s ventilation, lighting, power, fire-protection, and security systems, ensure that all equipment and systems are operating efficiently and effectively, bring backup systems online immediately when needed, and warn when malfunctions occur. Fire Protection Systems A structure’s fire protection system is intended to extinguish small outbreaks of fire, to suppress/contain fires until external firefighting resources arrive on the scene, and to assist in the conduct of firefighting operations. The most basic fire extinguishing system is a sprinkler system with sensors that detect flames, heat, and/or smoke and activate pumps that supply water to be discharged through outlets in specially designed pipes. Fire protection systems frequently include a smoke control system designed to keep a building’s escape and access routes free from harmful smoke in the event of a fire. Solar Energy Systems Some buildings are equipped with systems consisting of solar thermal collectors and other elements for capturing the energy of sunlight and using it to heat water. In hybrid systems, this hot water is then fed to the normal plumbing system. Natural Gas Systems Natural gas systems consist of equipment and other fixtures that safely convey natural gas arriving from an external network to places inside a building where it may be used for heating and cooking.
