They have already reshaped how we live and work and will do so even more in the future. Just as sustainability issues are beginning to be considered in the architectural and engineering design and execution of structures, technological developments will become the driving force of change. Under the influence of the green transformation process, energy efficiency and air quality will be issues of prime concern not only in the design and construction of new buildings but also–and especially–in the renovation of existing ones, for which the market potential is huge. For our own part, we will add new pages to our success story by tapping into our strong engineering know-how and deploying our advanced technological resources as we continue to undertake the electromechanical works of high-profile projects. We foresee that the post-pandemic landscape will be presenting many attractive business opportunities. Supported by its vision and trailblazing approach, Birleşim Mühendislik will assess those opportunities in line with its strategy of pursuing balanced growth. To that end: • Expecting that the need and demand for automation-equipped high-rise and smart home/building structures will increase, we will continue to take part in boutique, high-quality, high-end housing projects. • Anticipating that all buildings intended for collective (high-volume) use such as hospitals, malls, office towers etc are going to undergo modifications so as to better cope with outbreaks of disease and that there will be increased demand for ventilation system modifications and improvements for the same reason, one of our priorities will be the electromechanical installation works of such buildings–a business line in which we can make intensive use of our engineering know-how. We will also be on the lookout for project opportunities such as pharmaceutical factories etc that impose special demands similar to those of hospitals. Consideration may be given to acquiring a firm versed in industrial mechanical installation as a way of strengthening our own competencies in this business line. • Anticipating that the explosion in online shopping will lead online vendors to make use of idle/disused mall spaces to address their increased storage/logistics needs, we see the conversion/modification of such structures as a business line with significant potential. • We will be aiming to act upon our plan to take part in international projects with entries into new territories, the Turkic republics in particular. It is always people who play the leading role in whatever we do. Our aim is to create spaces which are comfortable and livable and which are responsive to people’s needs. Similarly, one of our priorities is to provide the best and safest working conditions for all the office and onsite teams who play a role in the production of those spaces. We strive to demonstrate the value we place in them through our human resources practices. We are constantly developing our employees’ competencies while also equipping them with new ones.
