BİRLEŞİM MÜHENDİSLİK 2021 ANNUAL REPORT 163 Birleşim Mühendislik Isıtma Soğutma Havalandırma Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş. and Its Subsidiary (All amounts expressed in Turkish Lira (“TL”)) Notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements For the Year Ended 31 December 2021 2. BASIS OF PRESENTATION OF THE CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS (Continued) (k) Summary of Significant Accounting Policies (continued) Intangible assets with indefinite useful lives and intangible assets not yet available for use are tested for impairment at least annually, and whenever there is an indication that the asset may be impaired. Recoverable amount is the higher of fair value less costs to sell and value in use. In assessing value in use, the estimated future cash flows are discounted to their present value using a pre-tax discount rate that reflects current market assessments of the time value of money and the risks specific to the asset for which the estimates of future cash flows have not been adjusted. If the recoverable amount of an asset (or cash-generating unit) is estimated to be less than its carrying amount, the carrying amount of the asset (or cash-generating unit) is reduced to its recoverable amount. An impairment loss is recognized immediately in profit or loss, unless the relevant asset is carried at a revalued amount, in which case the impairment loss is treated as a revaluation decrease. When an impairment loss subsequently reverses, the carrying amount of the asset (or a cash-generating unit) is increased to the revised estimate of its recoverable amount, but so that the increased carrying amount does not exceed the carrying amount that would have been determined had no impairment loss been recognized for the asset (or cash-generating unit) in prior years. A reversal of an impairment loss is recognized immediately in profit or loss, unless the relevant asset is carried at a revalued amount, in which case the reversal of the impairment loss is treated as a revaluation increase. Borrowing costs Borrowing costs directly attributable to the acquisition, construction or production of assets which are assets that necessarily take a substantial period to get ready for their intended use or sale (qualifying assets), are added to the cost of those assets, until the assets are substantially ready for their intended use or sale. The amount of borrowing costs eligible for capitalization is the actual borrowing costs incurred on that borrowing during the period less any investment income on the temporary investment of those borrowings. All other borrowing costs are recognized in the statement of profit or loss in the period in which they are incurred.
