BİRLEŞİM MÜHENDİSLİK 2021 ANNUAL REPORT 8 INTRODUCTION MILESTONES • Mechanical and electrical works are completed for the Medipol Hospital in Istanbul’s Bağcılar township, a project with 66,500 m2 of indoor space. • Birleşim Mühendislik and Erde Mühendislik together complete the electromechanical works of the Medipol Bağcılar Hospital, the Samsung mobile phone factory, the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus Hotel, and the Kalyon Jet Hangar projects. Birleşim Mühendislik also completes the mechanical works of the Court of Cassation’s new services building, a Turkish Airlines’ cargo handling facility, and the JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea in Istanbul Ataköy. 2021 2016 2017 2018 Electrical and mechanical works are completed on the Istanbul Ataşehir Watergarden Shopping Mall project, Turkey’s first combined water park and fine dining, entertainment & shopping center. Electrical and mechanical works are completed on the İş REIC Ege Perla project, a new lifestyle center located in Izmir. Mechanical works are completed on the Istanbul Levent Ferko Signature office building project. Electrical and mechanical works are completed on the Centurion Pharma Factory project in the Başkent Organized Industrial Zone in Ankara. Successfully addressing and responding to the uniquely complex and technical project-design and construction demands of pharmaceutical factory systems, Birleşim Mühendislik completes and turns over all works as specified. Birleşim Mühendislik is included in the Istanbul Chamber of Industry’s 2017 list of Turkey’s second 500 biggest industrial concerns. The company receives a Business Initiative Directions (BID) Quality Leadership Award in France. Work is completed on the Maltepe Piazza Shopping Mall project, the first in which Birleşim Mühendislik makes use of building information modeling (BIM) processes. The company invests in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program. As no construction-industry ERP program yet exists, Birleşim Mühendislik employs its own IT team and know-how in the development of a program capable of addressing all the industry’s mechanical and electrical system installation needs. The ERP program investment gives the company more effective control over all of its processes. The company completes the Skyland Istanbul mechanical works. This mixed-use shopping mall project with 683,000 m2 under construction includes two 65-story 293-meter skyscrapers that are Turkey’s tallest and Europe’s eighth tallest buildings.
